Likras Shabbos
The Alter Rebbe composed 10 niggunim. They are deliberate and exact, and allude to exalted, heavenly matters. They have the unique quality of arousing one to do teshuvah and soulfuly cleave to G-dliness. Some of these niggunim are short; some are even just a note or two that the Alter Rebbe would often sing. This niggun of is one of those ten. The Rebbe Rashab would habitually sing the first possuk of Shema to this tune.
There is another version of this niggun with the words Lecha Dodi instead of Likras Shabbos.
Lyrics
Come, let us go to welcome the Shabbos, for it is the source of blessing.
Hear, O Israel: The Eternal is our G-d, the Eternal is one. And you shall love the Eternal, your G-d, with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your means.
